St. Anthony’s Medical Center offers diabetes education classes for those interested in learning about diabetes care and pre-diabetes. New classes start every month. They include ten hours of diabetes education for new on-set diabetes patients and patients with uncontrolled blood sugar. The classes are covered by Medicare and most major insurance companies. CASA WATER SHORTAGE (TFN)
Casa Water Facilities are experiencing a water shortage through the summer months. Customers are urged to conserve their water use as much as possible.
SILENT AUCTION (THRU 8/28/08)
The Petit Jean Razorback Club is having a silent auction for a set of two Arkansas Razorback football tickets. Bids can be made at Petit Jean State Bank, Regions Bank, and Arvest Bank. The drawing will be held August 28.
COUNTY CLERK OFFICE HOURS (THRU 9/1/08)
Beginning September 1 the Conway County Clerk's office will resume regular hours of business from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with the exception of early voting for the annual school election, which will be 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. September 9-15.
GOLF TOURNAMENT (THRU 9/5/08)

DCP ENROLLMENT (THRU 9/30/08)
Enrollment into the 2008 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program is now underway. The deadline for farmers to enroll a 2008 DCP contract in September 30th. Enrollment is by appointment. You will need to allow extra time during sign-up due to a review of all records for both operator and landlord. To make an appointment, call the Conway County FSA office at 354-2000, ext. 2.

The Morrilton Knights of Columbus hosts Bingo every Monday at the KC Hall on North Cedar Street. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Games start at 7:00. Concessions are available. All proceeds go to Sacred Heart School and other local charities.

The Conway County Farmer's Market is open every Saturday at the parking lot north of the Conway County Courthouse.

The Logic and Accuracy Testing on the I-Votronic voting machines for the upcoming annual school election will be held Thursday (8/21/08) beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Conway County Courthouse. The public is welcome to attend.

SOCCER REGISTRATION (8/23/08)
The Conway County Soccer Club has begun registration for the 2008 fall soccer season. Registration is open to youth ages 4 through 15. Children must have been 4 years old by July 31. Registration will continue through Saturday (8/23/08). Registration is $45 for the first child, $35 for the second child, and $25 for each child after two. Registration forms can be picked up at C-4. The forms, along with copies of proof of health insurance and copies of birth certificates, can be returned to the drop box at C-4 or mailed to the address on the form. BENEFIT BREAKFAST (8/23/08)
Bells Chapel Freewill Baptist Chruch on Pine Ridge Road in Atkins is hosting a benefit breakfast on Saturday (8/23/08) from 7:00-11:00 a.m. The menu will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, coffee, and juice. The price is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 6. To go trays will be available. All proceeds go to the Bells Chapel Building Fund. AUDUBON SOCIETY (8/26/08)
The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet Tuesday (8/26/08) at 7:00 p.m. at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain. Mallettown United Methodist Church will be celebrating its annual Homecoming on Sunday (8/31/08). Services will begin with morning worship at 11:00. A potluck fellowship dinner followed by an afternoon of singing will complete the day's festivities.

REMEMBER THE RIVER DAY (9/1/08)
